Loomian legacy bases things off of a lot of different things. For example, we have dobo. Not only does it have a similar name to Chocobo, but they also are mounts that are birds with similar designs. Chocobo and Dobo can also have gear equipped, so it seems quite obvious that dobo was based off of Chocobo.
