When the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise was being designed, April was originally going to be Asian

Back in the 80's and 90's characters were often swapped out between the initial idea and the end result.
Usually it was because the voice actor they wanted wasn't suited to the design or sometimes in a live action remake, the best actor was different but gave the best audition so they just went with it..

Now, people never cared back then, didn't really matter... but the difference is that there wasn't a racist ideological person behind the screen desperately intent to replace everyone of one race with absolutely anything else back then.

April isn't being changed because she was initially something else...she's being changed because she's white.

1. Yes it is true that characters were being changed during the '80s and '90s, even Smithers from The Simpsons was originally going to be black and have a wife and kids.

Because it was the truth . . . a truth that the political Left keeps pretending nowadays that they are not practicing even as their original basis for this new ideological fetish for swapping genders or ethnicities or races of characters WAS proudly announced years ago as being based on WOKE equity values rather than anything having to do with the legitimacy of the initial storyline.

What I'm trying to point out which you cannot seem to get is that I'm pointing out his hypocrisies for him saying that race swapping has been around since the '80s and '90s, yet his party's supporters cannot stand race swapping because the characters need to be more diverse.

But guess what, many of these characters were another race before they were white either during their process of being developed or during their first episodes. The race swapping that has been done reverses the original decision for the original producers to swap a character's race from being a person of colour to being white.

They made the characters white in the first place because Hollywood have believed that a white audience as mainstream and believed that films with racial–ethnic minority lead actors and/or films that focus on the stories and experiences of nonwhites could not appeal to the broader audience, thus, labelling such films "risky". This has been proven false as actors such as Will Smith, Denzel Washington, and David Oyelowo have been celebrated in markets across the globe.
