You see, the joke here is that Starbucks doesn't have a size that is just called "big" or "large," the sizes are called "tall," "grande," and "venti" which just means "large" in different ways (except for venti which is "20.") I think that what it's saying is that Starbucks employees get annoyed when you say "big" or "large."
