Wellllllll . . . he first tried his hand at comedy when he said "I am a statesman, not a politician" and I think that was the first time he was pushed out of a presidential primary for plagiarizing a British politician's speech and calling it his own.
Then he later on went for another laugh when he endorsed Bill Clinton's claim of , "I did not have sex with that woman." So he's been trying for decades now. It's just that he's really no good at it.
One of his latest attempts at getting the entire nation to laugh was his now classic, "Bidenomics is Working" jape. Laughing AT a president is close to laughing WITH a president, yes?
