i never heard of this anime but i like gems and crystals and stuff soooo
what gems and power levels are we talking about?
i.e.:
1. are the gems realistic, like amethyst, sapphire, ruby, topaz, etc, or are there fictional stuff too like unobtanium, nanonium, kryptonite and whatever other stuff? and what are they each used for? (you mentioned that some gems are incompatible with some jobs)
2. how overpowered can one get in the anime? is it like super godly levels or just normal human power? i need to know this because most of my oc's are brutal powerhouses, though i can make clones without some, a lot, most, or all of the overpowered things (this is canonically possible in my own fictional universe the op ones all come from so it's completely fine if i have to do this)

1. Yes, the gems have to be realistic. The gems get assigned a role to play in their community based on their hardness by their Sensei. So basically a gem with a hardness lower than 5 won’t be able to partake a job in patrol since they are fragile.
2. The most overpowered they can get is based on the mohs scale from 1-10. 1 being weak and brittle where even a fingernail can scratch it, to 10 being very tough to break. overpowered doesn’t necessarily mean how many powers they have or something along the lines of that. They are overpowered by wether or not they will be able to survive Lunarian attacks.

i'll probably settle around Mohs 7 to 8, as a "powerful but not brutal" level (since i usually get stuck at that stage in most games) so i'll look for gems around that hardness

also, this might stretch it a bit but are meteorite-related gems (if those are even a thing irl/in the anime) allowed? because if so then i'm definitely picking that

Since you’re picking a 7-8 hardness you basically can pick any job (except leader)

i'll go decide that when i get to making the character, but obviously given the meteorite gems it's gotta be something space related

some which i've found:
- garnet (6.5 to 7.5, deep red color)
- [DQ] tungsten/wolfram (7.5, very high heat tolerance, not a gem tho :c)
- euclase (7.5, can be a cool blue color)
- grandidierite (7.5, cool teal color)
- aquamarine (7.5 to 8, known for blue color)

You could probably incorporate Tungsten as part of the gem’s body. Sometimes Gems would accidentally lose their limbs or something of some sort and replace it with a metal or another gem.

and the metal kinda gives the gems stretching and solidifying powers (But only with the metal parts)
