For once? You mean for this week?
Vietnam 50 years ago?
But not the Liberals 150 years ago that liberated the slaves?
Or the Liberals 250 years that liberated us from the God King of England?
How many Conservatives ran to sign up to fight in Vietnam? Oh, that's right, they knew they didn't have to, because they were gonna get drafted anyways. Ooooooh boy, and did they love the Vets with their long hair and beards, all hooked on heroin the way they made them out to seem with their Hippie dippie Rock & Roll Devil music.
You'd be surprised what you can remember when you LIVED through something, as opposed to being born TWO generations after it became the past. Eeeeeeeeeeeverybody spat on our soldiers. There weren't any welcome home parades in Pignuts Arkansas or Smokedgizzards Texas either. THAT'S why we now say "Thank you for your service," because the guilts finally started to set it decades later. You wanna guess who made that a trend?
Politics wasn't an issue in 2001 either. Sure, some did question why the bin Ladens were flown out or why Bush ignored intel on an impending attack (not that it was precise), but those were QUESTION questions, not this silly post-2016 partisan team tee shirt hackery bs. And it WAS a fact that W publically smooched the Saudis' butts - who were responsible for the attacks but we WERE too understanding to send back into the **** from whence they came. Not even a complaint. He really did announce the Eid stamp for REAL real, as well as started bringing up the love we should all share for the Islamic people, etc, etc. Anyone can look up the speeches we saw on tv on YouTube now.
Seems that the message in the OP meme was confused by conflating the War in Afghanistan with the Iraq one. YES, there were protests against that (Iraq), and YES, they were, as we now know, legit.
We had the entire Planet on our side. We suddenly had become the underdog. Even Iran pitched in to help, albeit covertly.
Then Cheney/Bush done blew it up so that Dick's company, Haliburtan and whatnot, could reap the profits by invading Iraq. Because of aluminum irrigation pipes. On a flatbed truck. On a highway. Is it a 'those darn Liberals' thing to protest that illegal war for profit? Good, maybe in 150 and 250 years that's how history will remember it.
Yet again.
