This is a bit deep and meaningful for a meme site, but here goes:
A generation is 20-30 years traditionally. I’d argue that in western countries, it’s more like 25-35 years now. A lot of people don’t have kids at 20-30.
In terms of human psychology, 7 years is a significant number (but it’s a bit rubbery).
7= starting school
14= puberty
21= adulthood (very rubbery now with housing affordability etc)
28= marriage and career
35= kids and career progresssion
42= kids are growing up and you can see them as adults
49= oh crap you’re getting older
56= middle aged
63= retirement thoughts, maybe grandkids
70= senior years, contemplating mortality
I wonder if we are somehow destined to experience these universal stages in life at around these ages, and this is what our minds/souls etc are used to.
Things like kids living at home into their 30s, retiring later, not getting married, not having kids, working later than mid 60s ALL combine to upset a natural rhythm to our life stages.
