I remember in 2022 I asked people what their favorite movies were. A lot of them said Top Gun Maverick.

Then I asked what their favorite movie was BEFORE that. They said Spider-Man No Way Home.

Then before THAT, they said Godzilla vs Kong.

Meanwhile my favorite movie (The Thing 1982) hasn’t changed since I was 8.

People go so crazy over new movies that they’re blind to how mid they are.

To be fair, I’ll never forget the time I watched Mission: Impossible - Fallout in theaters. That’s one of my favorite movies to this day.

But yeah for some reason people just love movies when they’re new and then move on to the next one.

It’s like a new IPhone - exact same features as the old one, maybe a better resolution or more camera features, but it’s not that good compared to its predecessor. Yet people go crazy for it, and buy a phone every time there’s a new model.
