He's really saying there are too many people and the planet would benefit if a WHOLE LOT of people weren't here. If we dont feed people, there will be a mass die-off among humanity.
Did you notice he isn't volunteering to do his part to reduce Earth's population? Lurch, and people like him expect others to do the dying they believe needs to happen.
