WWII could have been ended in months, not years as Geman generals offered to capture and turn Hitler over during his first invasion. The Allies rejected the offer. The Japanese tried to surrender 5 times, but Truman wouldn't accept it because they hadn't unleashed the nuclear bomb yet. Russia was getting everything they needed to build the bomb through the US Lend Lease Program during the war. And we haven't even gotten to 1950 yet. Yes, we have been lied to about everything.
