Constitutional mechanics -it's what's for dinner.

Constitutional mechanics -it's what's for dinner. | Well howdy there, Imgflip Trump-cult kids, it's Socialism again. Today, the subject is the 5th Amendment and how it has the potential to strip Trump of presidential viability. AMENDMENT 5; No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or; indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any; person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be; deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. The word "Liberty" was originally included, intended to protect citizens from arbitrary imprisonment. As time progressed, its functional meaning expanded to encompass Constitutional freedoms generally and individual freedoms specifically. See: Meyer v. Nebraska; I get a distinct sense that some of you reading this see where things are going, are experiencing feelings of dread and dismay... well... you're not wrong; Ayuh, we're covering the Due Process Clause... see, a lot of folks are zeroed in on the Insurrection Clause as a clincher for keeping Trump out of office but, when it comes down to it, it's unnecessary... If he's convicted in the Florida or D.C. case, the Due Process Clause bestows authority upon the presiding judge to lawfully deprive him of the Liberty of holding public office with the justifications being that he can't be trusted with classified information and malfeasance in office respectively. Obviously, Aileen Cannon is unlikely to go that route given her displayed willingness to afford Trump preferential treatment -although; things might be quite different once all the evidence is on the table, assuming she's not biased and still presiding justice when the time comes... But Tanya Chutkan? Well... she comes across as a by-the-book, no nonsense kind of judge soooo... if you're on Trump's side and you pray to a deity, it's probably time to start callusing up those knees | image tagged in the constitution | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
