It's not like our taxes would go down. They're going to spend it on something. By basic supply and demand, if demand goes down, so do prices. An electric car isn't practical for me personally, but if tons of other people buy electric cars, I'm all for my gas prices going down. ;)

Not to mention that $646 Billion of our tax dollars already go to oil & gas subsidies. Every year.
