That depends on the person. For instance the phrase that "There are no atheists in foxholes," is only true for most people. Maybe three-quarters of people would 'convert' during high stress events. But then again maybe one quarter of the people that are atheists BEFORE the shelling and gunfire begins will still remain atheists during and afterwards.
