You make it sound fancy and pretty.

In layman's terms -:They buy offsets to their emissions.

This allows them to pollute at the same rate while virtue signaling on the back of their fraudulent zero "net" rate.

Translation for anyone still befuddled - it's a scam.

How is it a scam?

They don't have to reducing their emissions one iota.

They simply by a percentage of reduction to subtract from their emissions output.

You emit 1 billion pounds.

You buy increments of reduction up to your 1 billion pounds.

You still emit the 1 billion pounds but get to advertise that you produce ZERO emissions.

All while giving huge corporations that are responsible for nearly all pollution huge tax breaks and adds stakes in other companies to their assets portfolios.

All while terrorizing the masses

But there's a difference between net zero and gross zero

I just explained that fact.

They are not attaining gross zero.

The contribute to a tree planting on Earth day and deduct points from their wholly unreduced emissions.

Bet zero is a lie. A fraud. A scheme.
