And mail in ballots are the most easily falsified and least secure method of recording votes. It is for this reason that Jimmy Carter - who has certified the elections in Venezuela, and many other places - says that he cannot possibly certify US elections.

Was Hillary Clinton guilty of "Conspiracy to defraud the United States" - when she pushed the fraudulent notion that Russia had somehow hacked America's election in 2016, and elected Trump? How about when she hired a company to lie, and say that Russia had hacked the DNC servers - when they had no evidence to support the claim, and all of the evidence indicates that her and Podesta's emails were downloaded onto a thumb drive, and then walked out of the building, on their way to WikiLeaks?
If the Role of the Senate in receiving the report from the Electoral College is simply Ministerial - then neither Pence nor Trump had any power to interfere. IF HOWEVER, the Senate had the right to accept or reject, or inquire further as to the legitimacy of the report - then this was in no way an improper suggestion.
