James Biden joined Hillstone November 2010 as the executive vice president which Hill International owned a 51% stake and a group of minority partners, including James Biden, holding the rest. James Biden got the job despite having little if any documented work history in residential construction.
Six months later in 2011, Hillstone stunned the construction industry when it was awarded the contract to build 100,000 affordable homes in war torn Iraq through a Korean Company that had won the larger $35 billion war reconstruction contract issued by the US government.
David Richter, the president of Hill International, is reported as saying "It really helps to have the brother of the vice president as a partner".
Shares of Hillstone jumped 59% on news of award of the contract, making James Biden, very wealthy.
Move along MAGAs, nothing to see here.
