(well technically it's not exactly confirmed he dies, but at the end when super sonci is going to get everyone away from the exploding planet, super shadow punches him away to safety and chaos controls them away, but he's not with them at the end of it and sonic is
the planet exploded and he was right there so yeah he's most likely dead (if the explosion itself didnt kill him, the chaos control and trying maybe to resist it woulda most likely have drained all his energy, repeating a death similar to sa2)
i watched the 4kids eng dub, so idk if it shows him dying in the japanese one-- after all, it's only 18 mins long instead of the usual 20. so i think they cut out a lot bcuz it has two characters die and 4kids hates showing death fsr
so ill rewatch the show later too
