everyone seems to be angry at you, extremely annoying, and the voices tell you to kill them so that temp's you to cause a massacre
the game starts off with you and your friend cleaning up your friend's attic because they have to move to a better area, and you find a journal titled "The Docktown Massacre," open it, start reading, then the screen fades to black and the real game starts with the date March 18, 1996 on the corner of the screen with the camera zooming into a guy curled up in a corner (the player).
