The seven deadly while not Biblical(all sin is the same to God except blasphemy of the Holy Spirit) they are for human standards important to know. In a sense the seven are gateway sins that lead to other sins. A person envies another person's property. Left unchecked that envy will grow and cause the envious person to steal or even murder to get that property.
