They really ought to call them "cattleboys" although that totally sounds like a niche furry kink. "Cowers" has a nice ring to it but the wrong connotation. "Boviners" is more precise but sounds too sophisticated. "Cowboys" vaguely suggests a herd of tomboy cows, whatever that would look like. And "cowpoke" evokes images of bestiality. Eh, that's English for you!
If I rustled cattle for a living, I'd go by "vaquero", which as near as I can figure means "cattler". Oh, cattler could work! "I ain't no pervy cowpoke, I's a proud and seasoned cattler. Reconize!
