Not so much lost their way as much as lost members to puberty.

Once they realize what the naughty bits are actually for as well as a certain aesthetically pleasing quality to them, they depart. An indication of the onset of this phase is when they start sharing links of the 'icky' with each other instead of reporting them like they're supposed to.
Crusaders, as we know, actually have gotten more timers than their intended targets have for a reason, ironically being THE biggest disseminators of the horni as they post links to each other on other memes on other streams that have no relation to their own on their fave - and I do mean, fave - subject. "Hypocrisy was never this much fun!" should be their motto.

For the record I pretty much do not support raiding. Just lonely incels spamming the same post en masse for 20 minutes like it means something. The only point it makes is how utterly unimaginitive they are and how totally unmystifying it is that they have nothing better to do with themselves.

At least try to be funny or original or maybe just wait till puberty sets in so they can grow a pair and take their issues to whom it may concern more directly. If you wanna swing your ginormous set of onions, then my all means, swing them. But have the guts and decency and self respect to take it to their face, not wait for when they ain't being active for the moment. Look em in the eye if you wanna show em who's boss.

Don't get me wrong, I ain't against sowing a little chaos. Chaos sires creativity. I've been known to stick it up their nose as well on occasion. A lot. I've even got 'associates' created just for that purpose.
