FINALLY DONE! I really wasn't sure what to do with the last two comments

Astra: so... What should I wear for the date?

Collector: I don't see why you're taking this so seriously. You're literally dating a 10 year old.

Astra: dating a 10 year old OUT OF PITY, but yes. I'm trying to at least give him a chance so I don't break his heart by just straight up rejecting him, or friend-zoning him like inky did to blaze.

Collector: blaze is simply weak.

Astra: SO IS EGGY! AND OVE IS HIS SON!!!

Collector: emotional strength is not simply passed down. It is something gained over time, and eggy clearly didn't have much ability to gain it. Ove on the other hand has a family, and he is still growing. So I'd be willing to bet he's more emotionally resilient.

Astra: do I look like I want to take that chance?

Collector: ... Hard to say.

During this argument hakai was simply watching while sitting on Astra's bed. Simply wondering why Collector was getting involved in this.

Hakai: maybe I should be the one to help with this. Arguing isn't gonna get you anywhere.

Collector: ... Clearly. I'll leave you to it, eggy is gonna call me when ove is ready so I'll tell you when it's time to go.

Collector walks out while trying not to look frustrated, but accidentally slams the door.

Hakai: so I doubt you have anything in your closet that would work for this. I've watched you look through it twice already.

Astra: *deep sigh* yeah...

Hakai: why not just use your shape shifting then? Just put on something small that doesn't hang too much, then just use your shapeshifting to form something over it!

Astra: ... I actually didn't think of that! It could work!

Hakai: now you just need to think of what you want to wear!

About five minutes went by of Astra morphing new clothing, and hakai suggesting adjustments. But soon it was complete.

Hakai: ... It's perfect... I think we just found the outfit for your date!

Astra: it feels a bit simple, but I like it!

Collector knocks on the door

Collector: can I come in? Neither of you are naked, right?

Astra: you can come in! We just figured out the outfit!

Collector: well that's nice, I bet ove will like it either wa- woah

Collector paused for a moment, he was surprised to see Astra using her shape shifting for an outfit

Collector: I'm honestly impressed you thought to use it in this way.

Hakai: wait, how could you tell??

Collector: you do acknowledge I built her, right? I know most of her tricks. But if you didn't know, you likely wouldn't be able to tell.

Astra: well that's a relief.

Collector: also I just got the message from eggy, ove's got a little suit and tie for this.

Hakai: aww! I bet it'll look adorable on him!

Collector: he sent me a picture but said not to show Astra, ove would rather have her see it in person.

Astra: fair enough.

Collector: speaking of which, you should get going. I heard ove has some big plans. eggy mentioned dinner and a sleepover but that's all ove wants him to say.

Hakai: I have a date with rizu soon, so if we end up at the same restaurant I can give some advice!

Collector: doesn't that seem kinda... Unlikely?

Hakai: I may or may not be foreshadowing a part later in the story ;)

Collector: breaking the fourth wall is my job!

Hakai: anyway, I hope your date goes well! Even if it's out of pity

Astra opened a portal and walked through, she felt a little bad about dating ove purely out of pity, but hopefully the actual date would change that.

She was just outside of Eggy's house, there were several boxes outside with various things written on them. It looked like they were in the process of moving.

Eggy sees Astra in front of the house and quickly rushes outside to talk to her

Eggy: ok, I told ove that he would be picking you up, but since I can't exactly open a portal to the realm of creation after a certain amulet incident, I had to improvise. Just go inside and wait by the front door.

Astra: ok, slow down. What exactly are you doing?

Eggy: there's no time! Just follow my instructions, and ignore any mechanical noises from outside. It's all part of the plan.

Eggy runs around to the back of the house while Astra goes inside and waits by the front door just as eggy said. She hears a portal open towards the back of the house, then lights shined outside seemingly from holographic generators. Within seconds it looked like the house was inside the realm of creation, and the color of the house had changed as well.

Astra: what the fu[error]

She notices the inside of the door seems to be glitching out, then sees a small holographic generator on the wall next to her. Sparks were flying out of it. If ove saw the glitchy effect, it would break the illusion

Astra quickly put her hand on the generator, put some of her nanotech in it, and hoped it would fix itself before ove opened the door

She sees a portal open in front of the house, eggy and ove walk through, judging by the look on ove's face he was completely fooled by Eggy's improvised setup

Ove opened the door, and just seconds before he could see the interior the holographic generator fixed itself, and the illusion was back!

Ove: h-hi Astra

Astra: (breathing slightly heavily) hi ove!

Eggy: (under his breath) you don't breath! Why are you doing that?

Astra subtly motions towards the semi broken holographic generator, and Eggy's eyes widen

Eggy: well then, how about we get you to your destination?

Eggy opens another portal, which lead to a popular restaurant in the inkeverse

Ove leads the way through, and just before Astra comes through following him, eggy quietly thanks her for fixing the hologram

Upon walking through the portal astra got a better look at ove's suit, and it was just as cute as hakai was expecting it to be

Ove opens the door for Astra

Ove: ladies first!

Astra: well thank you "sir"!

The man at the counter immediately recognizes ove, and begins leading him and Astra to a reserved table

Astra: you must've really had this planned out! Have any other destinations planned?

Ove: a few, but I'd rather have them be a surprise

Astra and ove talk about various subjects for the next few minutes before ordering their food. Both ordered burgers, but ove wanted one with just mustard and ketchup on it for some odd reason. Guess he's eggy's son after all.

They eventually began talking about magic, ove told Astra about various things he can do using egg magic, and Astra demonstrated a form of magic she created called glitch-stone. It shares similar properties with inkstone and brimstone, however it is far less explosive. She is not yet sure of it's full capabilities yet as she hasn't tested it much, and would like the help of inkmatas to learn how to control it properly.

After this ove began flirting a bit more, he slides something over to Astra just before the waitress arrived with their food

Ove: I've been saving these for you

It was a Hershey kiss, and a yellow rose.

Astra: pretty clever, I was actually saving something for you too!

She pulls out what seems to be a crumpled ball of paper, but after making some minor adjustments it became clear that all of the folds were intentional, and it began to take shape

Astra: I learned this recently, it's meant to be a dragon but it got a little... Messed up.

Ove: here's another thing egg magic can do

He taps the dragon on what he thought was it's head, suddenly the paper became more smooth, and after a few seconds the dragon looked good as new

Ove: there! Now I see the dragon

Astra: 0_0 HOW

Ove: egg magic! I told you it's versatile!

The waitress walked up to the table with ove and Astra's food, but just after she left astra noticed two familiar figures walk through the door, one in a blue dress, and the other in a red and yellow one

Astra: looks like we aren't the only ones on a date!

Ove looks to the door and sees hakai and rizu. Both astra and ove waved at them, they noticed this and walked over to the table to say hi

Astra: what are the odds of this?

Hakai: the odds are yes, because plot.

Rizu lightly hits hakai with her elbow

Rizu: it was nice seeing you two but we should probably get back to our own dates.

Ove: sounds good!

Astra: bye

Hakai and rizu soon walk over to a table across the room, seemingly in an attempt to not interfere with Astra's date.

Astra: she really helped me choose the outfit for this, I probably wouldn't be here without her.

Ove: siblings aren't always good though, like how essy snitched about my crush on you.

Astra: eh, sometimes they have your best interest even if it doesn't seem like it. You probably couldn't have kept that a secret forever.

Ove: Yeah...

Ove suddenly remembers something, then pulls an extra straw out of his pocket, unwraps it, then puts it in his milkshake

Ove: wanna share?

Astra: ...that's sweet of you, but don't think you're gonna trick me into kissing you this early on.

Ove's face suddenly turned yellow as he tried to deny that he was trying to do that

Astra: don't worry, I'm just teasing you!

Astra smiled at ove while taking a sip from the milkshake, he could barely see her cheeks were slightly blue as she smiled.

Astra: anyway, we should probably eat now so we can continue your plan.

They continued talking about various things as they ate, then eventually finished and left the restaurant.

Just before leaving Astra noticed hakai by the door to the restroom, Astra simply told ove she had to do a quick system check, claiming something felt a little off. she walked into the restroom and hakai was standing next to one of the stalls

hakai: so is it going well?

astra: it actually is, ove is really nice and it's feeling less like i'm just doing it out of pity

hakai: well that's nice, do you need any tips?

astra: what if he tries to... y'know...

hakai: kiss you?

astra: sure.

hakai: just say you aren't quite ready yet, or maybe a better excuse if you can think of one. that's if you're trying to avoid it though. if not, just embrace the moment.

astra: are you sure?

hakai: why wouldn't i be?

astra: ... any other tips?

hakai: just be yourself, if either of you do something cringe you'll both probably just laugh it off. at least that's what me and rizu do.

astra: ... i should probably get back to ove, i told him i'd be quick.

hakai: i hope the rest of it goes well!

astra: me too, i just hope he doesn't plan on making this last all night.

ove was waiting just inside the door to the restaurant

ove: what took you so long?

astra: i had to adjust my settings a bit, i'm feeling better but i probably couldn't go all the way until morning

ove: that's ok! i only had a couple places planned before we go back to my house

meanwhile eggy was trying to figure out why the projectors wouldn't turn off, and was about to resort to just bashing them with a hammer and building better ones

back to ove and astra, ove was leading astra to a small nearby carnival. it had various rides, and games, while still not being too crowded

Ove: so what do you want to do first?

Astra looked around for a moment, but eventually decided to do a small rollercoaster on the other side of the carnival

Astra: how about... That?

Ove: sounds fun!

The two walked over to the rollercoaster, and Astra realized something right as the bar went over their laps to keep them in the cart

Astra: maybe it wasn't the best idea to come here right after dinner...

Ove's eyes widened just as the rollercoaster began to move

Astra: at least I chose the small one

The rollercoaster zoomed across the track at surprising speed, near the end ove was looking slightly nauseous, but luckily nowhere near vomiting

Astra: you ok?

Ove: yeah... I'm fine...

Astra: I'll let you choose the next one

The two went to a few other rides such as the farris wheel, and bumper cars. After a few games ove decided it was time for the final destination

(Partly because I'm running out of space, and I want to have this all on one post)

Ove: here we are!

The two arrived at a movie theater, several movies were playing but ove had tickets for across the spiderverse

[Insert their reactions because I still haven't seen it yet. DON'T SPOIL IT! PLEASE!!!]

ove: ok, time for our LAST last stop.

Ove opened a portal leading back to his house, while going inside Astra could see eggy hiding broken holographic generators behind piles of boxes. It seems he couldn't turn them off.

Ove and Astra sat on the couch and played Minecraft until eggy came back in, then they set up an air mattress and went to bed sleep shortly after that.

Astra woke up the next day with eggy making breakfast, while collector was waiting at the table for Astra to wake up

Collector: ah, finally awake.

Astra: ... yeah?

Collector: how was your date?

Astra: it was fun. Where's ove?

Collector: he's in the bathroom. It's time to go home, but we can wait for him to come out so you can say goodbye.

Astra rubs her eyes and then nods.

Ove eventually came out of the bathroom, and hugged Astra goodbye.

Upon returning home she noticed hakai putting bandages on rizu's arm

Astra: what happened?

Hakai: some "new order" goons attacked us. I was able to scare them away but they got rizu pretty bad.

Astra: why can't the inkpire just STAY dead?

Collector: because they're stubborn. Probably also because shiver needed another story

Hakai looks at collector with a mischievous grin

Collector: just because I break the fourth wall sometimes doesn't mean you should, you do it too much.

Hakai looked back to rizu's arm, slightly disappointed, and continued what she was doing

Mr T: you really went out with that squirt? Dang…
