I get it, Jesus could walk on water. So God is cheering for him, since God is Jesus's father. And ours so he is cheering for them all.

You got everything right except the last part. God is looking toward Jesus and cheering for him (and no-one else), "That's my boy!" Because it's a meme and you don't have to stick to your guns when meme-ing.
