Dr. Desolation commandeered one of the prison's security ships, and Awenasa charted the course to the planet Sahra. Soon enough, they reached the small backwater desert planet. They landed on the sandy surface and unboarded.
"What are we looking for?" Awen shouted, peering across the dunes.
"Legend says the temple of the Amplification Crystal should be marked with an obelisk," said Dr. D.
Suddenly, three figures appeared on the horizon. Dr. D pulled out a pair of binoculars and looked at them.
"It's Gluttony, Envy, and Pride," he scowled.
"Wait," Awen said, taking the binoculars from Dr. Desolation. She looked a little to the left of the three Vices. A large stone pillar stood on a dune.
"I found the obelisk!" Awen exclaimed.
"We've just got to get there first," Dr. D stated. "But how?"
"Fortasse possum auxilium," said a voice behind them.
Awen and Dr. D whirled around. A figure dressed head to toe in silver and gold armor stood in front of them.
"Who are you?" Dr. D questioned the figure.
"Vocor Sanctus Peregrinus," the figure said.
"What?" Awen didn't recognize what language he was speaking.
"Hang on," Dr. D said, rifling through his potion bag. He pulled out a green vial, then told the figure "Bibe."
The figure tilted his helmet up and drank the potion. When he finished, he put the helmet back down.
"Apologies," the man said. "I am called the Holy Crusader. I only know how to speak Latin, but fortunately your friend has that potion."
"It won't last forever, though," Dr. D stated. "Let's go over the game plan. We need to reach the obelisk that marks the temple of the Amplification Crystal so we can stop the Seven Vices from ravaging the multiverse."
"I shall divert them," the Holy Crusader said, unsheathing his sword. "You two must open the temple."
"Got it," Awen said, pulling her bow out.
The Holy Crusader ran down the dunes toward Gluttony, Envy, and Pride, while Dr. D and Awen ran to the obelisk. Dr. D pulled out a shovel and began digging into the sand around the obelisk until he had unearthed a large sandstone brick. Awen lifted it up and the obelisk toppled onto the sand. A large opening sat in its place.
"Let's do this," Awen said, diving into the hole.
