Ben Franklin quote on religion

Ben Franklin quote on religion | “The truth is, I make such [theological] distinctions very little my study. I think vital religion has always suffered when orthodoxy is more regarded than virtue; and the Scriptures assure me that at the last day we shall not be examined what we *thought*, but what we *did*; and a recommendation will not be that we said, ‘Lord! Lord!' but that we did good to our fellow creatures.”; - Benjamin Franklin | image tagged in background | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Personally I believe we won't be judged by how we treated our loved ones but how we treated our worst enemies.

Well, "fellow creatures" includes both, as well as (presumably) the non-human ones. :)

The two seem to go hand and hand especially concerning children. Those who abuse animals should never be permitted to be around children and those who abuse children should never be permitted to be around animals.
