Honestly one of the reasons "group therapy" (basically people sympathetic to your situation because they're going through similar shit themselves) was such a benefit to me was they don't tell you everything will be fine or that they want you around or whatever. They tell you the shitty shit they're experiencing and how life sucks for them and how much it means to them to have other people listening to them and not judging them or telling them how great life can be, and I'm like "fxck yeah, life is bullshit! Shit is fxcked up and I'm miserable too! Holy crap, this person gets it! And they're GLAD I'm not trying to cheer them up. Damn, there may actually be hope after all!" A little anyways.
At the absolute least, it's a way for miserable people not to have to suffer alone. That's huge in itself.
I'm starting to think Imgflip could use a group therapy stream. Oh, there is an online therapists stream I can link to, that could be worth checking out if you haven't already seen it.
