the ONLY reason it bothers me is because i’m a huge geek and i’m willing to go down fighting when it comes to canon in a movie… | Spider Gwen (Gwen Stacy from Across and Into the Spiderverse) is not canonically transgender. she has the pride flag in her room as awareness to protect trans kids, which is just amazing i loved that detail when i noticed it! the colors of her universe (appearing lighter shades of blue or white or pink) reflect the emotions of the characters in that moment. also the suit color design is completely coincidental and it was made a while ago in the comics (not to mention that gwen has been a character for decades and i don’t think they would’ve had a trans love interest in the 60s… that’s just the harsh reality of the time period). again, i’m not transphobic and it’s okay for people to have their own headcanons, as long as theyre not changing official canon. but Gwen Stacy is not transgender… but the animators support trans kids!! and that’s wonderful in my opinion. SOO OBVIOUSLY I’M NOT TRANSPHOBIC BECAUSE I AM TRANS, AND THIS ISN’T MEANT TO BE TRANSPHOBIC AT ALL.
