I like to think the Puppet was made to be androgynous so when it gains sentience (basically after Charlie leaves it she's been in there so long that it has its own mind now) it just... doesn't grasp why everyone is arguing about whether its a girl (bc Charlie) or a boy
As a side note the Puppet in my AU (aka my timeline because at this point you can't really make a timeline without someone arguing) literally has no voice box and can't speak on its own, so it communicates through either writing or miming, which must've gotten real awkward when it finally got tired of everyone's confusion and it tries to find the right words to say "Are we seriously arguing about the gender if a robot?"
