basically a fictional slavic country takes over parts of eastern and central europe in the 1960's ruled by a fairly strict (but not like big brother level strict) dictator with a neutral approach to politics rather than communism, and now it's the late 80's and a rando boy who lost most of his family signs up as a border guard and with the help of other guards and his supervising officer he eventually blows the dictator's convoy up which also puts him in a coma until the 2000's where he wakes up in a modernized but non-scifi world and reunites with his brother and lives on in peace
