Well, you didn't really achieve anything by doing that. But at least you had some fun and seem pretty pleased with yourself, right? There's a lot to be said for that!

Second, Yeah, I achieved nothing but get a few online points, but I will soon achieve a few hate comments. I can tell.

Yes, you will get some hate comments. At least you're prepared and while I know next to nothing about you, I will speculate that it won't bother you (as it shouldn't). The problem as I see it, is that those with strong religious beliefs consider homosexuality to be a sin. Sure, they'll say they can love the sinner and hate the sin, but at least for those here on imgflip, that doesn't seem to ring true.

I doubt I'm the nicest person on this site, but I'm pretty dayum far from being the meanest.

And not that you asked, but I'll just put it out there that politically I'm mostly Libertarian, although I would never actually join any political party. I mention it because as the great Penn Jillette said, "You have to be careful as a Libertarian because you can sound very Republican."

It really won't bother me. Most of these dumb-dumbs won't be saying anything like that in real life.

Good to hear that it won't bother you. Hopefully you'll encounter some who are nicer than me pretty soon. I'd say the odds are pretty decent. But people also load up on keyboard courage when they login to imgflip, so you'll undoubtedly encounter plenty who can't be classified as nice.

Nothing wrong with not being overly political. I am, and it's caused me plenty of indigestion! I'm a bit of a US history buff myself, so I get what you're saying about American history and politics. (I think!)
