Putin, Orbán, Erdoğan, Trump, and even Desantis all fit the bill - conservatives these days will follow any autocrat who will tell them how smart and patriotic they are for fighting against democracy and the rule of law.

Ukraine has been a constitutional republic since the late 90s, and Russia's unprovoked aggression and subsequent invasion are exactly what the LWO was designed to prevent, and failing that, to address.

Please do a little basic research. Ukraine is a political mess. Orange Revolution 2004. One Party rule, media control, corruption, etc. LWO was designed to counter Soviet influence. You would be extending the LWO's mission greatly to include Ukraine. I'm not saying Ukraine should be abandoned. I'm just saying someone should at least be talking about peace on some level.

We're a political mess that's been largely corrupted and held hostage by a minority party, their donors, and media - glass houses and all.

That said, Putin is the last vestige of Soviet influence - countering his aggression and invasion, regardless of which sovereign nation he decided to invade, is the LWO's mission.

The US is held hostage by a small political elite that controls both parties that keep us divided. Not that sure of LWO mission, but unlimited war with a nuclear power scares the hell out of me. Someone should be talking about a ceasefire at least. All I'm saying is, "Give peace a chance."

The problem is what that means in practical terms is "just surrender to the Russian autocrat", an outcome that would embolden both Russia and other autocracies to invade other sovereign nations.

You can't achieve meaningful peace by surrendering to aggressors.

If you "just surrender" that would obviously encourage an aggressor like Putin. There are so many other options. What does Putin fear? What does Putin want? Have you ever played poker or bought a used car?

There are very few options when you're dealing with a completely lawless aggressor - have you ever played poker against someone who cheated or who, faced with a loss, simply pulled out a gun and took all the money on the table?

There are lots of options. US has the biggest guns. US cheats plenty. Good guy, bad guy, binary thinking is not very useful. US should negotiate from a position of strength or at the very least talk openly about wanting peace. I never said it would be easy. This war might go on for years. It could escalate and go nuclear. Current policy is reckless.

No one is even proposing negotiations. US & Western countries just send more arms. Putin miscalculated badly. He may be looking for a way out. A negotiated peace is the only one possible. Russia can't defeat Ukraine. Ukraine can't defeat Russia. It could go on for years.

Well, here's a way out: go home. Just send all the Russian troops home. It's that simple. War ends overnight. The negotiation can be skipped entirely.

I did. I've been doing everything I can to get his attention since February last year. For someone you keep insisting is just looking for an out to peace, he hasn't appeared very interested in it.
