Nah, it’s closer to about 60-75-ish %. All of the main meme and shitposting subreddits are still up, which is why I think the protest isn’t working the way it was intended. Most of the ones I see right now are DankMemes, Memes, DiscordVideos, stuff like that. ThereWasAnAttempt is still up, some of the Pokémon meme pages are still up, most of the dating subreddits are still up last I heard (from someone yesterday), the SCPSecretLab subreddit is still up, JakerTown is up, SCP is up. In fact, the only ones I’ve followed that aren’t up are WingsOfFire and PrequelMemes. I don’t follow too many subreddits, but I do know there are more still up than people think they are.

Ah. I still don't see why reddit hasn't done anything, losing over 60% of their platform must have a big effect.

It doesn’t do shit if it’s only for a few days. You’ll need to have it done for at least a week, and most people just go pushed onto other subreddits for a few days so they were still making the same amount of money.

Turns out the protest would have continued for a while, except for the fact they replaced all the owners and mods with people who supported the new policy. I don't even know what they're mad about tbh

No, it went for two days, only a few subreddits closed down. When they got mad Reddit didn’t listen, then some subreddits elected to stay down (which now a lot are coming back up, some by mod changes, some by themselves). Now what’s left of the protest is some subreddits only allowing people to post some random ass voice actor or going NSFW to f**k with advertisers. That’s it. The protest was poorly made.

API changes involving third party apps. Basically, third party apps now have to pay a shit ton of money that they don’t have to Reddit to get Reddit’s data to continue operating since half of them are better for moderating and some of them are better in terms of accessibility. There is one that reads out posts to blind reddit users, something the website doesn’t have or do. Some reddit apps have better moderating tools than reddit, and these changes also apply to bots. So almost all of the third party apps are gonna die. The change is set to go into affect on July 1st.

That sucks, we need a better protest

Unfortunately that ain’t happening now since everyone realized reddit can just change the moderators to people who are more supportive of the changes or don’t care. Some of the mod changes are good though, I heard they recently took down one that may have been a pedo. But the API change is shit though.
