The Free Town Project failed

"The Free State Project" is working. I went to its annual festival/convention thingy in New Hampshire last year, thousands of people and was all about simulating what a libertarian society would look like. Now, as far as how effective it is as a form of governance, it worked on a small-scale for this week-long convention, so you could always argue that it can't be applied on a large scale, you may be right, but we have yet to see real-examples in favor or against.

The Free Town Project ended with a bunch of people being attacked by bears and I wouldn’t exactly call it successful long term. Also how it would work scaled up is unknown as a libertarian country will have issues beyond a libertarian town

if The Free Town Project failing due to literal bears then that is definitely not an argument against libertarianism lol.

It failed because the community’s lack of regulation meant people didn’t properly dispose of waste which caused the bears and in some cases the residents literally fed the bears.

Mmk I still don’t think an absurdly specific external force causing it to fail is an argument against libertarianism.

Had the community enforced rules prohibiting bear feeding and mandating bear proof garbage cans it wouldn’t have happened. Also bears are not rare and a US government system that doesn’t protect against them has issues.

How optimistic of you to believe that the townspeople would have obeyed the rules. Cute.
