Don't do it for the points, do it because you love making memes. The whole point/like/favorite/upvote system has been a brutal antagonist in modern society that has given people a false sense of value regarding themselves. If you're making an income off of it, that's one thing, but it's not a competition here unless you have no passion or joy when it comes to making memes.

I see where you’re coming from, but if everybody who cares about imgflip enough to leave when they are unable to be seen, then it wouldn’t be worth it to be on here

There is a feedback/suggestion system for imgflip, so if enough people care to, it's possible to request for them to abolish the collective points system, and by that extent perhaps even the "front page" in place of a catagory selection, as well as the "hot" catagorization of memes too.
