First, birds are avians. Second, slugs, worms, and insects are not animals. Third, cephalopods are marine animals which are different. Third, the australopiths are a group of early hominins and are ancestors of modern humans.

First, avian is a synonym for bird or things related to birds. Second, slugs, worms and insects ARE animals. Third, marine animals are still animals. Fourth, you said "third" twice. Fifth, the australopiths are still not humans. Sixth, australopiths also gave rise to the genera Paranthropus and Kenyanthropus which where also bipedal.

Well technically humans are not at the top of the food chain since they can still be eaten by other creatures. Take chimps for example, they are dominant predators in their natural habitat, but they can still be ambushed and eaten by a leopard if they wander off alone.
