Only the ones insecure in their beliefs. There are also the ones who thump their bibles and preach the whole turn or burn spiel. Both seem to feel that other people's beliefs are somehow a threat to theirs. How droll.
The real tragedy is that there are plenty of Christians out there who are surprisingly tolerant of non-believers, and instead of being acknowledged and appreciated for respecting the rights of others to believe what they want, they get painted with the same brush as their loud, obnoxious counterparts.
Sort of like how I used to hate all motorcycles, until I realized not all of them are piloted by deliberately provocative assholes. Those were just the ones who made a point of using their rights in the spiteful pursuit of irritating as many bystanders as possible. Some consider themselves Evangelists, doing God's good work. I call them sociopaths...but those are found in cross-sections of any demographic. Same with people mature enough not to seek out drama for their own edification, and secure enough in their beliefs not to begrudge others their own.
TLDR; sorry for the unsolicited street-corner soap-box rant. Leave it to me to make a speech about how shitty it is to do the exact thing the speech was about. I'll show myself out.
