many years ago a user named MS_memer_group, later known as spire, created the stream MS_memer_group. The goal of the stream was to chat with friends and basically have fun. But soon, it went south. The point was totally ignored. It became toxic. Many people committed suicide, many people became depressed, many people self harmed. But it was a great community otherwise, many people thought. This was only because they had popularity and/or friends, which they didn’t have irl, and they didn’t wanna give that up. This is because they had a safe space where anyone would listen.
or so they thought.
a few years later, the stream grew so toxic you couldn’t speak your opinion without someone saying “did I ask?” “do i care” “im not reading all of that” “shut your mouth”. The stream became homophobic and furryphobic and raided many other streams. honestly no owner could ever stop that. Idc if past owners thought they were good owners. Yes they were good owners, better than me i completely agree. However no one could fix this stream.
In 2021, a user named arkuum deleted all the mods and went inactive. The stream went ballistic and everyone was screaming and crying to the site mods, who they previously roasted, to beg them on their knees to give them their precious stream back. The site mods were just doing their job, but it was a huge mistake to give the stream back, because the toxicity increased.
one day sauce went into my dms and asked me if we should arkuum the stream and get the site mods in on it? I thought it was a pretty good idea. We wanted to get the site mods in on it as well, though they had mixed feelings about this idea. Andrew told us to send an email to the developers. Sauce did, but they never responded. Meanwhile we began to plan it out. Should we turn the stream on private? Should we turn off posting? Yes and yes. But this arkuum was not to be silly or obnoxious. It was to end all the suicides, all the depression, all the heartbreak, all the self harm, all the toxicity this stream has caused.
We began to announce it in the stream, but many people didn’t think we were serious, and that we were only joking. Little did they know that we were serious in fact.
