I know that "martyr," is technically not a correct term to use to describe a collective sense. I just wanted to take advantage of whatever "visibility," has been accrued by this franchise of mine. So, I took the proverbial "Poetic License," with it. What these people did was criminal, which is evidenced by almost 700-sentences arising out of guilty pleas and convictions. So, it is not like they are getting off "Scot Free." They will do time in jail, on supervised release and/or pay fines. I just don't have to bear the burden of not forgiving them after justice has been done.
The greatest power a person has is the power to forgive someone else for a "trespass." As one who has needed and received more than my fair share of forgiveness from others, I can attest to the fact that it is much greater to give than receive. Forgiving liberates the forgiver, more than the forgiven. There are people who can never be forgiven. like child molesters. Each of us has a "red line," we will not cross. Due to the fact that I have never, "walked in your shoes," I suggest that you forgive yourself first.
