Rather than reward the 5 students and their families who actually gave a f**k, they punish them and essentially say too bad so sad.

Well, it says rescheduled, not canceled. They could just be moving it to a smaller venue. If that's the case, they aren't punishing anyone. Just adapting to changed circumstances. This meme doesn't really give enough info to know anything beyond the school is bad at educating.
