Ivy: "hm. no one has been in this forest for quite some time. *she shakes his shoulder* are you ok young one?"

*A strange Lizard man walks up to him. (Aka, my OC.)

"Is everything ok, sir? It's pretty cold out ..."

*Lily is walking in the forest near her house, looking around. the young vampire's gaze falls on the boy*
Lily: woah, woah, *she gently shakes his shoulder* hey, hey, are you ok?

Max: It's ok! No need to apologize... I think it'd be better if someone else led me to my room if cerbie does this to you

*Nick weakly gives Max a smile and a thumbs up. litteretly 5 seconds later Laurent is running over at top speed*
Laurent: sh1t man, I forgot- *he looks at Nick and winces* I'm too late, aren't I?

Max: kinda yeah, *sitting on the floor with cerbie*

*Laurent facepalms and goes over to Nick*
Laurent: go on Nicky, go lie down. take a day off, 'kay? *Nick just nods and walks off. Laurent sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose* why'm I always late to this stuff? *He looks at Max* I'm sorry, that was an accident on my part

Max: it's fine *stands up* could you bring me to an open room please?

Laurent: of course *he leads Max to an empty room that he and Nick had been heading to originally* Here you are, free room. if you need any help navigating, hit one of those buttons in the corner. wait *he goes over and disconnects one labeled 'Nicholas'* we'll give Nicky boy some time to rest, yes?

Max: of course, he deserves it. *sits down on the bed* c'mere cerbie!

*Cerbie practically flattens him. Laurent laughs softly before nodding and closing the door*

Max: bye laurie! *petting cerbie*

*as the door closes, Max can hear Laurent groan and mutter something that sounds like 'not you too!'*

Max: OK, thanks for guiding me around this place by the way

Nick: no problem *Nick keeps eyeing Cerbie. he swallows, almost nervously*

Max: are you ok?

Nick: what? oh, yes, um *he stops and covers his mouth and nose before sneezing a few times* sorry

Max: are you allergic to cerbie?

*Nick blushes and smiles sheepishly*
Nick: maybe? heh heh . . . sorry *he covers his mouth and nose again before sneezing* sorry

*now, the only difficult part of this situation is that Cerbie seems to like Nick . . . a lot. the Saint Bernard jumps up on Nick and starts licking his face. Nick's response is some . . . unfavorable language*

Max: cerbie no! Get down! I'm so sorry *grabs cerbie*

Nick: I- I- It's f- atcho! atcho atcho atcho atcho! *he looks away* S-Sorry, o-one moment
*Cerbie licks Max's hand, seemingly not understanding what just happened. ofc he didn't understand; he was a dog*

Max: Wdym it's not a monster *he smiles at her and kneels down to pet the dog*

*the girl's eyes widen as the dog licks Max's face*
?: It's eating him alive! Laurie! Laurie! the new boy's being eaten! *she runs to Laurent, who immediately rushes in before facepalming*
Laurent: Nini, he's fine. dogs don't eat people, remember? *the little girl hangs her head* it's ok, you're not in trouble

Max: *lays down laughing cuddling the dog* I think he likes me

Laurent: he's a stray. would you like him to be yours?

Max: YES!

*Laurent smiles at Max's enthusiasm*
Laurent: alright, he's yours
Lily: did you finally give away one of your fur babies Laurie~?
Laurent: 1, not my fur babies. 2, stop calling me Laurie!
Lily: hmmmmm, no

Max: *turns to the dog* hmmmm I think I'll name you Cerbie! *starts petting him*

Laurent: Cerbie? nice name choice *Laurent looks around and spots something* Nick! find a room for Max to stay in please
Nick: of course *to Max* follow me

Max: C'mon cerbie! *follows nick* so what's the room situation like? Do we have to share rooms or what?

Nick: no, you should get your own room *he looks at Cerbie for a moment and narrows his eyes, but says nothing* You're a guest. if you stay, you might room with the other workers. depends on your position

Max: *lies down and faces cerbie* y'know I think I'm gonna like it here. *he then rolls over to sleep*

~The next morning~
*sunlight filters into the room, birds chirping outside. Cerbie licks Max's face to wake him up*

Max: Heya cerbie! *sits up petting his dog* you seem to be in a good mood *he stands up, yawns and stretches and then starts wandering the manor*

*there's significantly less people walking around now. Max can see Nick, seemingly doing better. he waved at Max, but didn't come over after eyeing Cerbie. a girl followed behind him, wearing a dress and an apron is following him*

Max: *waves at Nick and the girl in the apron before continuing to walk*

*the sun is shining outside. it's a perfect day, and yet, Max can't find Lily of Laurent anywhere*

Max: oh yea... lily did say she was a vampire

*some people that’d qualify as oddities are still running around; mostly half-humans, but there’s a shapeshifter, something that resembles a demon, and a tiny elf girl riding around on a giant wolf. Cerbie takes off towards the wolf, barking excitedly*

Max: Cerbie! *runs after him*

*Cerbie barks and is sniffing the wolf. the elf girl giggles at the 2 canines*
???: Hallo!

Max: *wakes up* hm? Oh yes I'm fine

Lily: why're you out here by yourself, little human boy?

Max: Um... I'd rather not talk about that

Lily: ooookaaaaay then, well, why don’t you follow me, Kay? I’ll bring you to shelter and safety, ok? We don’t want you becoming Vampire food *she giggles, showing sharp teeth*

Max: then why should I come with you?

Lily: ;-; uhhhhh, cause I have self-restraint and a brother who would kick my ass for eating a human?

Max: OK then *stands up* lead the way

Lily: alright! *she leads him through the forest and to an ivy covered manor in the forest* here we are!

Max: *stares up at the massive manor* oh my God... your rich!

Lily: not really, it was abandoned when we moved in *she rattles the lock and glares. she kicks the door* Laurie! Laurie, you bitch! Open the door!

Max: Is the door locked? If so I might be able to pick it, if you have a bobbypin or something

Lily: good idea! lemme try one more thing first though *she looks back at the manor* Oi Laurie! I'm gonna publically read your diary if you don't open this door!
???: please don't *there doesn't seem to be anyone behind them, just the masculine voice* I'm over here you idiot -_- *a boy seemingly appeared out of the shadows. he's a rather attractive boy, older than Lily, but seemingly not by much. his dark skin and black hair makes him blend in with the night, but his eyes seem to glow as the moonlight hits them* who's this?

Max: I-im m-max

*the boy nods and holds out his hand*
???: I'm Laurent. nice to meet you Max *he looks at Lily* and why's he here?
Lily: um, I found him in the woods and didn't want him to get hurt so I brought him here?
Laurent: Lily, we can't adopt every traumatized kid we find
Lily: I'm not adopting him! you're the one who gets attached!
Laurent: to dogs, not to people!
*as the siblings bicker, Max looks around. the closer he looks, the more he can see other people walking around. they do such a good job at hiding that they're almost impossible to find. it's like they were all in a 'Where's Waldo' book*

Max:: I don't mean to interfere but I'm still kinda here

*someone taps his shoulder. it's a kid with bright ginger hair and the brightest blue eyes Max has ever seen*
???: I unlocked the door, you can go on in now *he pauses and smiles as he watches Laurent and Lilly argue* best not interrupt them
*Max enters the house as the ginger man walked away. if it's possible, there's even more people inside; cleaning, talking, some kids were getting yelled at for dragging dirt into the room. though, there's something interesting; most people in the room look like . . . humans*

Max: *continues to wander picking at his nails out of anxiety*

*someone bumps into him. it's one of the kids, but, he's odd. he's not a human, or a vampire; at the top of his head, 2 little cat ears twitch. a tail swishes behind him*
??: ah! I'm sorry sir! *he gets up and runs off. odd kid*

Max: hmmmm maybe I can actually fit in here

*suddenly, someone grabs onto him. it's another cat person, but a little girl this time*
?: it's a monster! it's trying to eat me! *she points at a dog that had been following her*
