Yeah. The old games had uncanny designs and maps, especially 1 and 2.
Now it's all bright and colorful, and oversaturated. "Oh yeah, the restaurant is totally closed! *proceeds to keep like 90% of the building's power on* "
The fear of the originals was that you couldn't see what was around you, they could be anywhere at any point and you wouldn't know. Not to mention the animatronics don't even look scary.

The only character who genuinely freaked me out was Vanny, and she barely even appears.
