I see, but I never thought I would see a thomas as a bus until now.

The Little Mermaid remake is of many examples of Hollywood casting a black actress as a redhead to me the only example of this is Idris Elba as Knuckles in the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie.

Given how woke Hollywood is, they probably wouldn't want a remake of Thomas because Thomas was originally a series of books created by Anglican Clergyman Reverend Wilbert Awdry and the Anglican church was opposed to gay marriage. A lot of people are boycotting Harry Potter because of J.K. Rowling's remarks on transpeople but being a Christian pastor in the mid 20th century, Reverend Awdry probably didn't even take kindly to cis gay men.

Thomas as a bus that's so weird

It is an actual thing in Japan. There is a bus designed to look like Thomas and a bus designed to look like Percy. I think they are special promotional buses that are for a Thomas the Tank Engine themed amusement park in Japan called Thomas Land.
