According to the bible the world was created a few thousand years ago, but it was really 4 billion years ago

Some theologians believe there might have actually been "a world before the void". You see, Genesis 1 says "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." The direct translation of verse two does not say "Now the earth was formless and void" it actually says that the earth BECAME formless and void. So maybe..........God restarted with Adam and Eve? Maybe, we are BOTH right. Obviously, there is no proof of this but it makes sense as to why some evidence would imply of a 4 bil y o earth. Even if this is not the case, the worldwide flood would explain the layers of the earth and as to why it would seem older. Have a nice day!

Carbon dating shows them to be 10s of millions of years old. Some fossils are 100s of millions of years old. The old testament starts in the neolithic age, about 6,000 years ago. Seems odd that God would have left half a billion years of terrestrial life out of the story, yet preserved all the evidence.

I think it's odd that God made us capable of piecing together clues he deliberately left around when those clues point to an origin story that makes perfect sense without him in it.

I was also thinking about all the religions that existed through time, thought currently practiced religions would be more relevant.
