I almost always do this and I haven't run into issues. I beat Gens 6, 7, 3, 9, and I'm working on 4.

In other words I beat Pokémon X, Ultra Sun, Omega Ruby, Violet, and still doing Diamond. All without really using Stat increasing moves

yeah, I always do this even though it can sometimes be risky. I usually do battles in Gen 8 and I'm not risking the game for a single swords stance
