If you want to pretend you're a cop when you're 9, go ahead! You can even do it when you're 39. But as soon as you try to make "other people" believe you're a cop by adding lights to your car or pulling them over, you'll have pushback. Don't believe me? Try another experiment, pretend you have a Doctorate in Psychology. Print yourself a diploma and frame it on your wall. No problem. But as soon as you add it to your resume and apply for jobs using this credential, expect pushback. Still not convinced? Walk into a courthouse with a GoPro strapped to your chest. Tell everyone you're an independent reporter. Try to walk past security. See if they unquestionably agree with your interpretation of free press. Or walk into an astronomy classroom. Tell everyone you believe the Earth is flat. But be prepared to respond to challenges, don't assume everyone will agree because you passionately feel the Earth is flat. Bottom line, if you push boundaries, standards, or conventional wisdoms, it is YOUR responsibility to explain yourself rationally. Not MY responsibility to simply accept everything you believe so your feelings won't be hurt. And it is the height of left-wing anarchy to suggest people who disagree with your interpretations of reality should face some sort of punishment. Right Dylan?
