I'm not trying to disagree with you, I believe that the right to bare arms is useful in a country. But there's one problem with it. Civilians don't have access to tear gas, tanks, artillery, etc. I am not saying that civilians should have those weapons, but the government has much better/stronger weaponry than civilians. It's like having to fight someone who owns an M4 and all you own is a musket.
My point is, the government can easily overpower the people.
