But the thing is, there isn't enough evidence to back the notion that puberty blockers benefit the mental health of children, a study from the British Medical Journal shows that puberty blockers don't alleviate negative thoughts in children with gender disphoria: https://www.bmj.com/content/372/bmj.n356
A study from the UK's National Institute for Healthcare and Excellence reviews the negative effects of puberty blockers and also finds that the use of puberty blockers is not backed by strong science, it is also what the Swedish national board of health is citing for their restrictions on puberty blockers: https://segm.org/NICE_gender_medicine_systematic_review_finds_poor_quality_evidence
There isn't enough solid evidence to back the transitioning of children, there is evidence that shows that puberty blockers have negative effects and that puberty blockers don't really have a lot of benefits to children, people have legitimate reasons to address these issues and protect kids from such harmful effects and we shouldn't dismiss them as 'transphobic' when they do have legitimate concerns.
