Sonic. he's fast as hell. he can just pull an A-train on em and turn mario into a pulp.

for this part let's ignore powerups
who would win
sonic has speed faster than Mario, some pretty great durability, and can hit quickly multiple times overwhelming the opponent

If including spin off games, Mario would win
But only the main games, Sonic would win

this is confusing

that's the point with these debates
it matters by what you do and do not include

Mario just uses the lightning power up on sonic and then squishes em like a bug

sonic could prob run away fast enough
