Rastafarianism is an Abrahamic religion with about 70,000 followers in Jamaica 🇯🇲. The colors red, green & yellow represent the faith. As Christians see Jesus as the Messiah, for Rastafarians it's Emperor Heile Selassie (aka Ras Tafari) of Ethiopia 🇪🇹. They also call Selassie "The Lion of Judah." They believe that they will rise from their graves on judgment day, thus body integrity is important. Their hair is not dirty; dreadlocks are meant to resemble African hairstyles & also a lion's mane 🦁. They see marijuana as a sacrament which purifies the soul, clears the mind, & promotes peacefulness. Some white people accuse them of being black supremacists, but the most famous Rastafarian is half white musician Bob Marley.
