Fun fact: The original plan for how they would've ended the Pokémon anime if it didn't run for long enough was to flash forward to Ash as an old man, no longer a Pokémon Trainer, and regretting how he grew apart from all his old friends. The only good thing about that ending would've been the confirmation that Ash does in fact age
